From smart cities to smart forests, it is happening in Trentino where researchers are trying to apply some of the techniques used for the "Smart city" experiments in a totally different context: the forest in non-urban areas, which represents almost 80% of the regional territory.

Partners of the initiative are Trilogis, an enterprise settled in Trentino Sviluppo technological hub and dealing with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technologies; the Trentino Consortium of Municipalities; the Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM), and the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK).
